Vasiliy Antipov's Quintet for Flute and String Quartett is written in a revolutionary "integrated" form. It's a double fugue in which both polyphonic and stylistic development are continuous. Stylistically, it starts somewhere in the late Baroque and ends in the early 20th century, with a touch of minimalism towards the end. The five obligato voices present a significant challenge for performers. In the recording we offer, the quintet is performed by Asya Safikhanova and the Elliot Quartett.
The sheet music includes both the score and separate parts.
