Vasiliy Antipov: Sonata-Fantasie

Vasiliy Antipov's Sonata-Fantasia is composed in a new form that the author himself has designated as 'integrated.' The central idea of this form is the continuous evolution of material. The material itself consists of a composition featuring a descending chromatic motif embedded within harmonic texture, along with short responses written on ascending motifs. All of this develops, acquiring characteristics of various forms during its evolution. The sonata consists of three parts: Grave, Fuga, and Allegro. However, due to the unique nature of the form, this division can be considered somewhat arbitrary.
